This album was released by Vee Jay 10 days before Meet The Beatles was released by Capitol. Due to the success of The Beatles after their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, the record eventually reached number 2 in the US Billboard Album charts. Vee Jay were being sued by Capitol (amongst others) at the time, and partly due to this the LP was re-released changing 2 of the songs (see above). Eventually Vee Jay were allowed to continue using The Beatles songs they had until the end of 1964 (This explains the number of repackaged albums released by the label - which are fully listed below). Capitol would later release most of the above tracks on the album 'The Early Beatles'. The Vee Jay records (and their subsidy label 'Tollie') are now very collectable.

  11. "Unchained Melody" – Frank Ifield
  12. "I Listen to My Heart" – Frank Ifield
The Jolly What! LP featured Frank Ifield on all but 4 of the songs. This was re-released in a more Beatle-like album sleeve later, in an effort to cash in on Beatlemania and just before Vee-Jays contract over the Beatles expired. The resulting album was..........

  11. "Day Tripper" – 2:47

Yesterday And Today
(Trunk sleeve)

The much hyped album, only because it was released with the infamous 'Butcher sleeve' which was mostly a McCartney idea, based on Capitol records dissection of the UK albums. The album was released with the sleeve and within 1 day was retracted, making the album sleeve incredibly valuable. The 'trunk' sleeve replaced the original and since 1987 all the US albums were replaced as the same as the UK versions.
