* The 15 songs recorded at the DECCA audition were never officially released as a set, except for bootleg copies. The 12 non Lennon-McCartney songs were first released on the 1982 album 'The Complete Silver Beatles' and this was followed by a number of differently titled budget albums between 1982 to 1985. These records were all deleted by the mid 1980's.
The CD debut of 5 of the DECCA songs came with the release of  'Anthology 1'  in 1995. This included 2 of the Lennon-McCartney songs. The CD release of the remaining 10 songs came with the 2013 album, 'I Saw Her Standing There'.
The DECCA audition ( January 1st 1962) was a failure, but the event is historically important for producing the first quality recordings by the group. It is also remembered for featuring Pete Best on drums.  For more information about the events click on The DECCA Audition (January 1 1962)
